
The Crossroads: Preserve my disordered eating, or finish my goal race.
Three weeks ago, I drove all the way to Italy to run the Monte Rosa Walserweag 100k (MRT), and I had a bit of a rough day out when my stomach didn’t cooperate at all. The culprit was not (entirely) heat, nor was it intensity or illness or the types of nutrition I had. The culprit was entirely my own lack of gut training, something I neglected out of my own free will. What I mean by that is, I knew that I needed to gut train, which is as simple as eating when you go running, but I did not do it because I have so much lingering disordered eating ideals that the notion of snacking on high carbohy
