Garden Goals for 2026
dreaming of what could be… When Marco and I bought our house, I was fully prepared for a small patch of dirt and a chain-link fence. Maybe two weeds. A raccoon. This felt realistic given our budget and the area we live in. Instead, we somehow ended up with a house on a hill, complete with three tiers of garden beds out front and a fenced backyard with a retaining wall in the back. Yes the fence was falling down. Yes, there was a family of groundhogs living under the sunroom. But the sheer potential. I was unwell with excitement. It feels important to say that the garden was mostly theoretical.

A Year in Books
I read a lot this year. Seventy-two books, to be exact. Some were read slowly and with intention, others absolutely inhaled, and one was abandoned without ceremony. I listened to my first audiobook, which I resisted for years on principle, then promptly fell down a rabbit hole I have no interest in climbing out of. I discovered romance as a legitimate coping mechanism, binged a few authors like it was my job. In short: I let reading be exactly what I needed it to be.
